Vita
Sigrid Baumann Senn was born in Schwerte/Westphalia. She started her art studies at the Art Academies in Bielefeld and Wuppertal, at Stuttgart State Academy of Art and Design and at Berlin University of the Arts.
In 1974 she discovered a fascination for organic materials and commenced her experimental work. As basic elements of her art, she uses unvalued organic materials such as salt, ash, earth, dough or farina in her pictures. Her works bristle with force, authenticity and the enigmatic aesthetics of nature, opening up new ways of considering hidden phenomena.
For the first time, this exhibition will present a retrospective from the artist’s most important creative periods. Sigrid Baumann Senn currently lives and works in Stuttgart as a performing artist, storyteller and author.
